There was lots of horsing around happening at this year’s Australian International Three Day Event. With free pony rides, giveaways, games and activities – the Ready Set Trot Carnival was the place to be!
More than 450 young people and their families visited the Ready Set Trot Carnival across the weekend, enjoying the free pony rides offered by one of our South Australian Ready Set Trot Providers, MJET riding.
Stationed in prime position, the Ready Set Trot Carnival was the place to be on Saturday to watch the equestrian athletes and their horses gallop past in the Australian International Three Day Event and Gow Gates Exhibition Eventing Final. When not caught up in all the action, kids lined up to get a ride (or two!) on one of the four busy ponies.
Riding for the Disabled had plenty to offer with numerous educational games and activities for the kids, using vision impaired goggles and gloves to test their ability with everyday skills while having a noticeable impairment.
While the ponies took a well-deserved lunch break, the Ready Set Trot Cross Country Challenge kicked into gear, challenging numerous kids to a race on Hobby horses against the clock. Winners of the Challenge were called back later in the day to compete in front of the crowds against Equestrian Grand Final Ambassador and Young Rider Team Dressage rider Stuart Archibald.
While in Adelaide the Ready Set Trot team also paid a visit to Basket Ranges Primary School in Adelaide Hills on Friday with local Delivery Provider Koolyangarra Equestrian Centre and their two schooled ponies. Students were taken in groups for a meet and greet with Lisa Finn and her ponies to ask questions and give the ponies a friendly pat, while the others worked up a sweat playing the fun and active horse-themed Ready Set Trot Playground Skills games. Koolyangarra Equestrian Centre were also on hand at the IRT Jumping Grand Final on the last day of competition, providing pony rides to all horse-mad children at the event. Overall, a fantastic weekend in Adelaide, South Australia!
